In 2007 another book Door de bomen het bos zien became available in Dutch. The new book addresses the subject of leadership in 21st century organisations. It is a plea for the development of collective intelligence (co-intelligence) and for the total abolition of victimhood in the workplace. Organisations have to become open living systems, functioning in the same way our brains do: through self-organising neural networks. In this context Emotional Intelligence (EQ) has become an absolute must for leaders. The highest form of EQ is community building.

NOW Jan mainly advises management teams and boards of directors. He is also available for presentations to larger audiences or for keynote speeches at congresses. Jan has worked for such fine organisations as Xerox, Philips, Rabobank, Cap Gemini, Pfizer, GSK, Mercedes, BMW and the Vlerick Management School.
